Live and Practice Yoga Gracefully for
Healthy Body and Mind Workshop

Saturday, January 21 @ 9-17

Our bodies change over the years as we go through many stages in life. It is a natural progression that our interests
and approaches to yoga practice also change from time to time. Our bodies are our homes. Taking care of our
bodies is essential. Yet, we do not pay enough attention to our bodies unless we feel pain, we are injured or the
body is compromised in some way. In this workshop, Kimiko addresses subjects (poses, alignment, pain, injury)
that helps you explore a range of yoga practice even when you sense discomfort, and shift patterns you’ve obtained
over time. Everyone is welcome, especially those who want new perspectives for their practice or those who like
doing yoga with both ancient wisdom and modern scientific aspects! This workshop will inspire and empower your
yoga practice for a healthy body and mind.
Program:
9:00-10:15 Yoga practice
10:15-10:30 Break
10:30-12:15 Posture & Breathing Lab & Q&A 1: Practice & Theory
-Kimiko shares insight about how to establish a good relationship with your body in poses through the lenses of classical
teachings and anatomy, bio & tissue mechanics mindfully. Together we look at bodies in poses closely, ask and explore
movement patterns, and the body-mind connection. You define how poses are beneficial to you.
12:15-13:15 Lunch
13:15-15 Posture & Breathing Lab & Q&A 2: Practice & Theory
15-15:15 Break
15:15-17 Sankalpa Meditation for 2023
-This is a yogic ritual to set an intention. Sankalpa, a seed of intention, is an introspective spiritual practice. The word
Sankalpa in Sanskrit consists of two words; “San” means connection with the purest form or the highest truth and “Kalpa”
means intention, will, and resolve. Sankalpa is your deepest yearning. The new year is one of the best times for self-reflection.
The practice aids you to tap into the true essence of whom you are and inform you to take action to live your life in a more
meaningful way.
